Blog Policy
Blog Policy: Probably the most important is that I won’t be discussing patients or their conditions. This includes those that I meet while volunteering through the duration. I want to make that clear because that seems to be the top concern about medical blogs. Some doctors go so far as to complain about patients in an unnamed way. That’s not what this is about. I’m more interested in the process of becoming a doctor. Aside from some discussion about what it is like dealing with patients in general, they won’t be discussed. If I want to talk about medical conditions or procedures, that is what journals are for…not here.
For all practical purposes, this is a personal blog. It doesn’t represent the views of anyone but me. If I do maintain this through to the point where I am in private practice, it will still by my blog and not that of the practice.
This blog absolutely does not have anything to do with my medical school or the institutions where I will be working. It has nothing to do with their views. While writing this blog I will comply to the policies of any institution that I am working at or attending.
For that matter, it will comply to the ethical standards of a doctor as well.
Medicine Policy: The discussion of diseases and conditions in this blog are for educational use only. This blog is not a substitute for medical treatment. If you have a condition which you think needs medical attention, please discuss it with your primary care physician. If you have a medical emergency, please discuss it with your local 911 operator.
Privacy Policy: I have been reminded by Google AdSense that I am not the only person in charge of this site. Because I am using Google for ads there are 3rd Party cookies tracking you. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
I’m sorry about using ads, but I’m a broke med school student. I’m hoping that some day the ads might actually pay for my web hosting fees. If you are that worried about cookies and your privacy, please feel free to stop using the internet. Otherwise, just be safe in your web use and protect the information about you that is important.
As far as my stuff, I won’t be ratting you out or anything, but I might use your comments in blog related business.
Blog Moderation: I reserve the right to modify posts and comments for any reason including, but not limited to, maintaining my anonymity, upholding the regulations and ethical guidelines which I have to abide by, common decorum and decency…and if you tick me off.
If you post about me, any institution I come into contact with, and any patient I might work with, I will edit it out. I will do my best to respect everyone, so please help me extend that courtesy.
IP Policy: All the material on this website which is not attributed to anyone else is copyright to the author…all rights reserved. We will eventually look into creative commons for some of this stuff, but for now all rights are reserved. The names CharlieMedSchool.com™, CharlieMedSchool™, CharlieMDSchool™, Charlie Med School™, Charlie goes to Medical School™, Charlie tries to go to Medical School™ and several other iterations of the name and grammar tenses are now trademarked by use. I will register these with the appropriate naming authority once I become responsible enough that a credit card company will grant me use of one of those plastic rectangles that people talk about.
