Updated Blog Template: New Pretty
O hai!

Admin Cat weirdly hates fuzzy dice.
So, I updated the blog template. There are like forty wordpress templates that are geared towards tech themes. There are practically none for science or medicine…at least not where I’ve been looking.
Luckily, this Fluid Blue theme is pretty simple which also makes it pretty versatile. And thanks to Henry Gray (author) and Henry Vandyke Carter (illustrator), we have art in the public domain to insert into the background. I am, of course, talking about Gray’s Anatomy. Gray’s is probably the most recognized anatomy text that there is. Books like Netter’s have since become more of the standard when it comes to medical anatomy coursework, but Gray’s is still considered to be the classic example of this type of anatomical atlas.

And since it is sooo old, illustrations from the old editions (Wikimedia has a lot of images mostly from the 1918, 20th Ed.) are in the public domain. These are all reproductions of the lithograph plates from the earlier version. I was going to say that they still use these, but it turns out my copy of Gray’s isn’t actually a more current edition. It is a knock off reprint of the 15th Ed. That’s what you get from a garage sale book. Anyway, the public domain is exactly what I was looking for and much better options than the free stock photo sites that I was pouring through.
So thanks Wikimedia. Thanks Henry Gray and Henry Vandyke Carter. Thanks GIMP. Thanks Srini of the Fluid Blue theme. And thanks to they random websites that helped me with the CSS.
And WordPress.
And most of all, thanks to me…Admin Cat.
